Robochart/XM2.1c, Robochart/OL8.1c Release Notes - June 2000

This is a minor update of the Robochart flow diagram editor,
with some feature enhancements and a few bug fixes. Diagram
and configuration files are fully compatible with previous
2.1/8.1 releases. Your 2.1 or 8.1 license key will continue to
work with this version. To upgrade, simply download the
archive files from http://www.digins.com/rceval.html and
install them. We recommend that you install the new version
in a separate directory and rename your old installation
directory just in case you have any problems.

The XM2.1b and OL8.1b versions previously on our web site
were stable but interim updates that included some of the
fixes described here.

1. HTML/image export:
   - supports manually specified links (from phantom objects) 
   	even during auto HTML generation
   - for auto HTML generation, creates symbolic link 
        ("foo.home.html") to top-level generated HTML file 
        (since the actual filename varies)
   - fixed extra border space on some image exports
   - handles X displays that don't support 8-bit color
   - special text symbols (e.g. ".PAGE.") are converted during
   	image export

2. Added UML (Unified Modeling Language) shapes to the default 
	shape library

3. Batch print utility ("rcprint"):
   - fixed initialization failures on some machine types
   	(abort, or all-black GIF output)

4. Screen snapshot utility ("snap", was "msnap")
   - uses Athena widget set (Xaw) for smaller dynamically-linked binary
   - handles 15, 16, and 24-bit screens

5. User interface improvements
   - BackSpace and Delete keys delete the active text selection
   - Delete key invokes Edit menu Delete function (same as Meta-D)
   	(Motif only)
   - Control/X, Control/C, Control/V may be used for cut/copy/paste
   	as well as Meta/X, Meta/C, Meta/V (Motif only)
   - Motif selection paste buffer size increased to 2000 characters
   - Motif main window widget layout modified to support Motif 2.0
   - Control/Q special-character insert key handling fixed (Motif)

6. Miscellaneous
   - Object/flow attachment selection logic improved (more consistent)
   - Center-justified labels with special text symbols (e.g. ".PAGE.")
   	are correctly formatted during printing and exporting
   - Background color setup for "-mono" (monochrome) command line
   	option fixed
