[Binder.txt 4/95 Digital Insight] To teach the OpenWindows file manager (filemgr) program about Robochart diagrams, follow these steps using the binder program (carefully - the binder is a bit finicky!): 1. Start the binder by typing "binder &" in a command tool window. 2. Click the left mouse button on the "New" button. If you see "Read-Only Entry" at the bottom of the Binder window, you don't have a binder database yet. Do the following (else you'll have a core file to remove): a. click on the "Undo" button b. click on the "Save" button c. click on the "New" button 3. In the Binder Properties window, enter the following: Icon: robochart-diagram Image File: /rcdiag.icon [use your Robochart installation pathname] Mask File: [leave the default Generic_Doc_glyph_mask.icon] Icon Colors: adjust to taste 4. Click on the "+" button to display additional properties. 5. Set the "Application:" field to "rchart $FILE", and the "Print Method" field to "rcprint $FILE". 6. Click on the "Apply" button. You should see the Robochart icon in both the main and Properties windows - if not, check your "Image File" entry. 7. Click on the "Category: File Types: setting. This changes the Properties window. 8. Click on the "New" button in the Properties window (NOT the main binder window). This adds an "unnamed_1" entry to the scrolling list. 9. Click on the "Identify: by Content: selection. 10. Enter the following Properties: Tag Offset: 0 Tag Type: String Tag Value: RCV Tag Mask: 11. Click on the "Apply" button. The list entry should change to "Content." 12. Cross your fingers and click on the "Save" button in the main window. 13. Restart your file manager.
